Reasons Why The 2017 BMW X5 Is a Perfect SUV

Luxury and power combine in the all-new 2017 BMW X5. Near the top of its class, this midsize SUV packs in an incredible amount of features without sacrificing style. Whether you need a new vehicle for commuting to work or a commodious space for toting around your future grandchildren, the BMW X5 will meet your needs and then some.

Performance

With a standard turbocharged inline-6 engine, the X5 has no problems galloping down the highway. 300 horsepower enables you to zoom from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.8 seconds. If you feel like upgrading, you can take advantage of the twin-turbo V-8 engine with 445 horsepower or the more efficient turbo-diesel inline-6 engine that kicks out 255 horsepower. There’s also a hybrid trim that lets you zoom along on electric power for part of your ride.

Modern Tech

What would a luxury vehicle be without modern tech? The X5 delivers here with a number of impressive features, the most important of which is BMW’s iDrive infotainment system. You can browse through navigation, weather highlights, and more all by using the 10.2-inch display with touchpad capabilities. For passengers in the vehicle who want to use their mobile devices, all they have to do is connect to the Wi-Fi hot spot. If their phone battery runs low, they can even use wireless charging to get it back up to 100 percent.

Safety Features

There’s no point in investing in a car that won’t keep you safe on the road. Luckily, the X5 comes with a number of available safety options to make your riding experience less risky. Front and rear parking sensors come standard, while you can add on a rearview camera to help you when backing up. Other available options include blind spot monitoring, automatic parallel parking, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and more.

Better yet, the X5 earned an overall five-star rating from the NHTSA, with excellent scores in side, frontal barrier, front seat, and rear seat crash tests.

Pros and Cons of Getting Customized Rims for Your Vehicle

One way to set your car apart from the others on the road is to invest in customized rims. Rims add a stunning flair to your car that other drivers will be jealous of. Before you jump into installing brand-new rims, think about if they’re worth the cost and hassle. Consider the following pros and cons of installing customized rims on your car.

Pro: They’ll Make Your Car Look Great

Rims are an easy way to change the look of your car without altering its performance. While you can get rims in different wheel sizes, by staying with the original equipment manufacturer size, you won’t have to worry about lift kits or buying bigger tires.

Con: They’ll Put More Stress on Your Brakes

If you decide to size up your wheels, you’ll need to upgrade to bigger tires. Not only will this cost more money, but the larger tires also put more pressure on your brakes. Because of the extra rotating mass, this might even affect your steering response and turning capabilities. Additionally, bigger tires weigh more. This decreases your fuel efficiency.

Pro: They Can Reduce Fuel Costs

Most cars come with standard rims made of steel or some other heavy metal. While this material is durable and good for off-roading, it’s also weighing down your car. By switching to allow rims, you can reduce the weight of your car and increase its performance. Alloy wheels let more air get into your brakes, cooling them off faster. And since your car will weigh less, you’ll use less gas to get where you’re going.

3 Things to Consider Before Detailing Your Own Vehicle

Your luxury car is one of your most precious possessions. One of the best ways to keep it looking good is to have it detailed. However, since this service is rather expensive, you might have considered trying it yourself. Before you do, it’s important to think about the dangers involved. Follow these steps to customize your detailing experience and make sure you don’t cause any damage to the vehicle.

Can You Assess Your Car’s Needs?

Since you spend hours in your car each week, you’ll have a good idea of the areas that look dirty. However, you’ll need to perform a full inspection about once a week if you want to get the detailing process down right. Inspect the paint, windows, headlights, splash guards, console, and other areas in the sunlight. This way, you’ll be able to see any dust particles, streaks, smears, or other blemishes that need cleaning.

Once you’ve identified the aesthetic problems, make a list of what you’ll need to do to fix them. If you’re not comfortable with any part of the process, you might want to turn to a professional.

Can You Invest in the Right Materials?

You can’t just use an all-purpose cleaner to scrub down your entire car. You’ll need to invest in specific cleaners that are meant to go on your vehicle’s leather seats. Otherwise, you risk damaging the fabric or burning holes in your dashboard.

Many of the materials you’ll need are common tools, so you should have them lying around your garage. However, if you don’t have a garage, prepare to spend $30 to $100 to stock up on the necessary tools. Depending on the level of clean you desire, you might need to buy rubbing compound/scratch remover, liquid wax, post-wash wax, polish, protectant shine, interior cleaner, leather care solutions, and headlight cleaner.

Whichever products you choose, be sure to use them with a microfiber towel. This provides better cleaning power without being too abrasive.

First Dive Into The Newly Redesigned & Alluring BMW Z4

BMW never fails to impress its followers and keeps bringing out products which match their customer’s expectations. A new BMW roadster model, the BMW Z4, recently made a début at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. Its first glimpse was at Concours d’Elegance this summer, in Pebble Beach, California. The new release is expected to appear late next year as a 2019 model. Z4 production is a joint project being carried out by both BMW and Toyota. The platform will also underpin a Toyota Sports car that’s anticipated as the long-awaited successor to the Supra.

So what is this new BMW Z4? Here’s what we know so far:

Sporty Look

All the classic elements are present in the Z4 concept, which mainly includes a long hood, a short rear deck, short overhangs and a very compact size. All these elements are reminiscent of an old-school sports car. However, its massive air intakes, extremely aggressive flanks and nostrils show that this is in fact a modern and eye-catching sports car. Drivers are sure to turn heads in this vehicle.

Bonnet and Overhangs

A shorter bonnet to go with the crisp overhangs seats the driver closer to the center of the car, giving more of its feel and a sense of road grip. This is slightly different from the previous BMW roadsters, while the outline of its body follows a unique wedge shape, giving it a classic look.

Interior

Spaciousness is a specification associated with all BMW cars. The new Z4 is even more spacious than its predecessors, as it is a lot wider and the front and rear axles are further apart, which makes it roomier. This luxurious vehicle has many interior options, and this roadster looks as good with its top up as it does down. See some unexpected bad weather coming your way? The hardtop can open or close in just 19 seconds.

True Legends: 6 Classic BMW Models We Love

BMW is one of the leading manufacturers of luxury and performance vehicles. Over the years, it has created some legendary cars that are unlike any others on the road. Whether it is a quick roadster or a large luxury sedan, here are some of the classic BMWs we love.

The BMW 507 Roadster

The idea for the BMW 507 Roadster came from a U.S. importer named Max Hoffman. He wanted to create a roadster that would compete with other iconic sports convertibles on the road. This little car had a purpose-built chassis and came with a 3.2-liter engine, but because the build was so expensive, the price tag doubled during production. They were only able to sell 252 of these roadsters, although it is still considered one of the most beautiful cars BMW ever made.

The 2002 tii

In the 1960s, BMW came out with the 2002 tii in an attempt to revitalize the brand. This car had a unibody design with a squared-off look along with an independent rear suspension. It didn’t take long for this to become one of BMW’s best-selling vehicles. The 2002 tii came with a 2.0-liter 130-horsepower inline four-engine, and it featured direct injection. The shark-nosed front end and excellent handling helped add to the popularity of this vehicle.

The BMW 2002 Turbo

The 2002 Turbo was one of the first turbo vehicles ever built. This came with turbo graphics on the front bumper, so everyone knew that BMW was the first to hit the roads with this type of engine. The 2002 Turbo had a KKK blower, and although the manufacturer only built 1,672 of these, it made its mark in the automobile world by leading the way to the 2000C/CS E9, which became a popular coupe.
